OUR FARM

Empowered Flowers was founded in 2014 by Joelene Jebbia and Adrianna Moreno, a queer, multiracial pair of first-generation farmers dedicated to growing both culinary staples and vibrant heirloom varieties.

Diversity is at the heart of our farming mission. We cultivate over 70 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and seeds to support a well-rounded, four-season diet. Every aspect of our farm reflects our hands-on approach—from hand-built infrastructure to hand-harvested herbal preparations, our deep connection with nature
infuses everything we do. We only grow food we're proud to feed ourselves and our families, and we hold every harvest to that same standard.

When we're not tending the gardens, you'll find us exploring the surrounding
forests with our Jack Russell terrier.

Meet Joelene

Joelene was born and raised in Portland, where her father instilled in her a love of gardening and mushroom foraging from a young age. Her energized, athletic nature drew her naturally to organic vegetable farming. With 30 years of four-season farming experience in the Willamette Valley, Joelene's depth of knowledge is the guiding force of our farm.

Meet Adrianna

Adrianna was born in Venezuela and migrated to Miami at age 7. While studying Food Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, she discovered Michael Pollan's work and felt a strong call to begin farming. Over the past 10 years, she has worked on organic vegetable and seed farms throughout Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Washington. Her background in human health and wellbeing informs her approach to farming and medicinal herbalism.

OUR CREW

Due to our small-scale, high-production approach, our success depends on the robust health of our bodies and the dedication of our crew. We're deeply grateful for the skilled hands and passionate hearts of our team members, whose hard work makes everything we do possible. We're committed to providing fair wages and a supportive work environment that honors the vital role each person plays on our farm. Our farm incubator program allows crew members to cultivate their own projects alongside our production, creating opportunities for growth beyond their roles on our team.
